My brother Adam had a severe brain stem stroke that has left with Locked-In Syndrome.

A Viking owner since 2005 and an AGD used since circa 1993, Adam was an avid paintballer. The brain stem stroke he had robbed him of the ability to even read a paintball magazine, as he cannot move his eyes horizontally. For a month, he could only blink.
In recent weeks, he has made some amazing progress, now able to move the digits on his left hand, and nod his head for YES and shake it a little for NO. All of these motions will allow him more means of interacting/communicating with the world. He is a fighter, and is fighting to regain his life. You can only imagine how glad I am that we DID NOT take the doctor's advice and try to convince my only brother to have the respirator disconnected.
I am turning to the group that we have always considered our second family, the paintball community, for help. When we both started playing many, many (pushing 20) years ago, there was a true sense of brotherhood amongst paintballers. Pehaps that's part of why we were attracted to the AKA community (we both own FSP Vikings, and as fate would have it, Jared not only is from our hometown, but went to the same high school as Adam).
So I am making a request for donations to help with Adam's medical bills. For the short term, his rehab and needed medical equipment and assistance will be costly. He will need medical attention more or less full time for the rest of his life.
If you can help, at all, I am asking that you send a donation via Pay Pal. Jared is taking care of collecting the donations and forwarding them to our mother (Adam's and mine, not Jared's!) as I live in Japan and would have to lose a cut of the donations every time funds were transfered overseas.
